Wave start times

After buying your entries you choose your wave start time. Current availability is: 8:45am (Elite Men), 8:50am (Elite Women), 9:00am, 9:15am, 9:30am, 9:45am, 10:00am, 10:15am, 10:30am, 10:45am, 11:00am, 11:15am, 11:30am, 11:45am, 12:00pm. Please arrive 1 hour before your start time.

Who's racing?

The Flagstaff Extreme Terrain Mud Run is 3 miles south of Flagstaff, Arizona, in the historic Fort Tuthill County Park. Take exit 337 of of I-17 and go west. Our course will start and finish underneath the treetop adventure course FLG Extreme with zip lines, balance beams, and cargo nets above the course.

Parking is $10 per vehicle, please carpool and bring cash.

There will be three different packet pickups available:

  1. Thursday, July 24, 5p-7p. Mother Road Brewing (7 Mikes Pike) from 5p-7p.
  2. Friday, July 25, 4p-7p. At the start line at Fort Tuthill (Exit I-17 at exit 337 and go west) .
  3. Saturday morning before the event. Gates open at 8am. Please arrive 1 hour before your wave start time to allow time to get your packet race morning.

Teams

Teams

You can race on a team or solo, but mud runs with friends are so much more fun!

After buying an entry, you can decide if you want to race on a team. You will have the option to create a new team or join one. So you don't have to sign your whole team up at the same time.

Why race on a team? Teams of 5 or larger (no limit!) are eligible for our best dressed team award, largest team award, and each teammate will get a coupon to save on future races and merchandise!

This is a race and all athletes will be timed! Your time will be slower than a 5k or 10k race, but it's always nice to see how you rank compared to fellow athletes.

We use chip timing so you can see how fast you really are and we provide you with a free printable finisher certificate online after the race.

The 9am wave of the 3 mile and 5+ mile courses is a competitive wave. The fastest three men and women in each distance will receive a free entry to another terrain Mud Run.

The Endurance distance is two laps on the 5+ mile course and all athletes must start at 9am. The fastest three men and women in the Endurance wave will be eligible for prizes.

There are aid stations with water approximately every mile. If you prefer electrolyte fluids, gels, etc., please plan to carry your own supplies.

We create a finish area that includes many exciting obstacles for spectators to watch their family and friends on.

There is no charge for spectators at our Flagstaff event and we encourage you to get a cold beverage, grab a bite to eat and hang out under the ziplines to cheer on your friends and family!

Each athlete will get a free beverage: a Mother Road beer, or bottled water.

Lunch and extra beverages will be available for purchase.

No outside coolers are allowed at the venue. You may bring water, energy drinks and snacks to the site but please leave other items at your vehicle.

The Fort Tuthill Campground does not have showers but the Woody Mountain Campground is 5 miles away from the race site and similarly priced.

Your donation will be made to the organization you choose which usually makes you eligible for a tax write-off! All donations are 100% non-refundable.

By making a donation you will be sharing your email address and name with the charity you choose so they may contact you with a donation receipt.

Course info

5k Kids

For ages 9-15. Ages 9-13 must race with a parent. This course follows the regular 5k course, it's just cheaper for those under 16.

5k

Best for first timers and athletes that want to have a great time. If you can jog 3 miles and do a couple pushups and sit ups, you can do our 5k course! You'll be ready to slosh in the mud, jump over 6 foot high walls, 12 foot high rope walls, and 16 foot high cargo nets.

10k

If the short course sounds too easy, get ready for a tougher course with 5-7 miles of running and over 20 obstacles to really challenge you. This is for athletes that want a tougher course and more obstacles.

20k

Two laps on our 10k. For athletes that like to run and do over 20 obstacles, twice. Cash prizes and gear prizes for top winners. You must do the 9am wave if you choose this race.

You can always change your course after purchasing your entry by logging in to your race account.
