What's a Terrain Race like?

Terrain Races are races that YOU will conquer.

Instead of branding our company with an angry connotation or a themed race such as a pirates, warriors, soldiers, etc., our athletes are proud to conquer Terrain Races as themselves. You'll be proud of your OWN accomplishments of navigating a challenging and fun obstacle race course. Terrain is about your own accomplishments. Terrain is about you.

You won’t find gladiators forcing you to take the plunge into a “scary” swamp. We know that you don’t have to pretend to be something else for the day to reach your goals and be your own hero.

Instead, you’ll take that leap as you, not as a themed character. You’ll find that you are more than a number on your forehead or an identically dressed spartan. You’re part of the Terrain family.

Throughout the race you’ll be challenged by obstacles so large they take heavy machinery to construct. On the other side of them you'll relish in your glory of conquering them as yourself.

We all have our own obstacles to tackle and completing your Terrain race will be an awesome way to overcome them. It’s a course we build and we call it Terrain. But in the end, it’s your race, it’s your terrain.

Frequently asked questions

Get all the answers so you'll be ahead of the competition.

Do I have to race on a team?

Nope, you can race solo, but we have fantastic incentives to race on a team of 15 or more.

When does the race start?

After paying for your race entry, you'll choose what wave you want to race in. Waves usually start at 8am and go every 15 minutes. Sign up and choose your wave early, they fill up fast.

When should we show up race day?

Arrive 1 hour before your wave starts to allow time to park, check-in, drop off your clean clothes at gear check, and line up at the start chute.

Do you have team pricing?

We keep our prices so low everyone will save. There are no discounts or coupons - we always offer low prices for our top-notch events.

What should I wear?

We recommend athletic clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, really dirty. Our pro team wears MudGear Compression Obstacle Race Socks, Icebug shoes with an awesome tread, and Xracewear apparel. Xracewear makes shorts and tops that hold your bib number so you don't need safety pins. For those looking to crush the course, visit them for great shoes, gloves, shirts, socks and other outdoor performance apparel.
